Secular Spirituality
There are a few different understandings of and approaches to fostering secular spirituality. I am very grateful to Stephen Truscott, a Marist priest and psychologist in Australia who has written "A Model for Practising Spiritual Direction in our Secular Age." (You can find his writing online here ~ Spiritual Direction Secular Age.)
Here is a passage from his writings which suggest...
‘fulness’ as shorthand for a spirituality which enables modern... (individuals) to flourish. The correlation of contemporary spirituality with secularism offers a pathway for porous and buffered people to seek fullness in attending the depth of their human experience in spiritual accompaniment.
